Teacher Academy helps with Fall Festival at LES


The students in Teacher Academy and the LHS Drama Club assisted with the LES Fall Festival on Friday, Oct. 30th.  Students played games, painted faces, supervised booths, and were tour guides in the Drama Clubs Haunted House.

Educating students on Haiti

Speaking about Haiti
Sanson Julian and Vilma Tham, natives of the Hispaniola Island, spoke to students today about the culture and educational setting in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.  They are here in Mississippi celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the GoHMM.  This is a Non-Profit Organization that send teams to the area to help in various areas such as providing medical care, children's outreach, and constructing water wells.  Their message to the students was one of hope and inspiration.  Samson told the students, "You are important.You are like Gold".

Health Science students attend EC Healthfest

Health Science Core students attended the HealthFest at East Central Community College on Thursday, October 22.  This event allows students to tour the Health Related programs at EC and witness live simulations that are used in health care student training.  The Health Science Instructor is Penny Wells.

District Career Fair

Seniors from Louisville High School, Nanih Waiya High School, & Noxapater High School participated in a College & Career Fair this week.  Representatives from universities and colleges were on hand for recruiting and to help answer the students' questions about admission, housing, and financial aid.  Military recruiters also attended as well as local employers including the Citizen's Bank and the Winston Medical Center.
