National Competition

The State Of Mississippi, Winston County, and the town of Louisville has been represented well this summer by students competing at the national level.  Students from three organizations at the Winston-Louisville Career Technical Center placed first in the State at their State competitions and have traveled to compete at National competition.  Congratulations to these students!!!  We are so proud of all of you!!

Burchfield Selected As State Student of the Year

Brody Burchfield was recently honored at the Mississippi Construction Education Foundation (MCEF) Banquet as the MCEF Student of the Year for the State Of Mississippi which included a $500 Award. He was also selected as the recipient of the $500 MCEF scholarship. Brody was also among the recent competitors at the National SkillsUSA Leadership Conference in Louisville, KY in the Individual Welding Competition.

Mr. Carl Woods Retiring after 32 years!!

The Winston Louisville Career & Technology Center faculty and staff, along with family and friends, recently celebrated the retirement of Mr. Carl Woods from the Louisville Municipal School District.  Mr. Woods has been an employee of the school district for 32 years.  He is a 1977 graduate from Noxapater Attendance Center.   He has worked for the Louisville Municipal School District since October of 1984.  He spent 18 years working at Louisville High School before moving to the WLCTC. Along with working at the school, he does work at the Winston County Head Start and has been a bus driver for many years. Mr. Woods is very active in his church and has been the musician over 20 years.  He is pictured here with Mr. James Robert Webb, WLCTC Director accepting a plaque given to him by the LMSD in appreciation for his years of dedicated service.   Congratulations and bests wishes to Mr. Carl!!
